Wilderness on a step from your accommodation

The magnificent Risnjak massif, with its white bare rocky peaks dominating above the green forests of Gorski kotar, rises above the surrounding landscape. The crown of its rocky heights is Veliki Risnjak (1528 m), one of Croatia’s finest viewpoints with endless views over the Kvarner Bay, the Kamnik and Julian Alps, the Slovenian Snežnik, Klek, Bjelolasica and Velebit.

You can rest at the mountain hut ‘Dr. Josip Schlosser Klekovski’ (capacity 55 beds) near the summit, on the beautiful Schlosser meadow, which is open from May to October. The most common approaches to the Risnjak massif are: from Crni Lug at the Park Administration, from the Gornje Jelenje pass via Vilje, from Mrzla Vodica, from the Lazac meadow and from the direction of Platak.
